Veronique West

Concept Creator/Producer

Veronique (she/they) is a non-binary settler of Polish descent, based on the stolen and occupied lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (colonially known as Vancouver, Canada). Her practice, informed by her lived experience of madness/psych disability, spans performance creation, dramaturgy, and facilitation, as well as mental health peer support and advocacy. As a creator and co-creator, their projects have been supported and presented by rEvolver Festival, Rumble Theatre, Rice & Beans Theatre, Boca del Lupo, Magnetic North Festival, Heart of the City Festival, and Playwrights Theatre Centre, among others. Veronique has been an eating disorder peer support mentor, a crisis responder, and will be a mental health workshop facilitator at post-secondary campuses next year. She is also part of Neurotales, a Mad and Neurodivergent writers' group. They are passionate about working towards, in the words of Disability Justice activist Patty Berne, “a world in which every body and mind is known as beautiful.”
